I am running for reelection on the Santa Barbara County Board of Education, on which I have proudly served since 2013. I am honored to represent Trustee Area One, which includes Carpinteria, Summerland, Montecito and parts of Santa Barbara.

I firmly believe that public education is the cornerstone of democracy; it is the birthright of American citizens to receive a free K-12 education but it is the responsibility of elected school board officials to maintain that the schools in the communities in which they serve are prepared to meet the diverse needs of all students. The right to a fair education for all students is a deeply rooted core value that I hold dearly and work toward daily.

With over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit governance, finance, and community needs assessment and another 10 years specifically in administering educational programs, I understand firsthand how to identify and support educational gaps, how to steward creative and effective means of problem solving to address them and how to harness community resources in doing so.
